At the core of every plate is a stress-relieved, poured MIC-6 cast aluminum tooling block bonded with height-calibrated monocrystalline diamonds. Unlike rolled 6061 aluminum or thin flex plates that bow under thumb pressure and bevel a 90-degree speed edge, cast MIC-6 stays permanently dead-flat so every pass contacts flush along the side wall of 62–64 HRC PM and bi-metal steel (EHS StayBent, Viking, Nagano, Maple, Bont).
